How large a file can WringCloud transfer?
WringCloud's file-size limits depend on how you use it:
Guests (not logged in): LAN direct transfer, single file up to 2GB
Registered users: LAN direct transfer, single file up to 10GB(Limited-time promotion: no size limit on direct transfer for registered users)
Plan users: no size limit for LAN direct transfer; cross-network secure relay is billed by download credits (1 credit = 1GB, annual credits granted by tier, valid during the plan period, topped up automatically on renewal)
Cross-network transfer on the Free plan: buy a credit pack (¥1 = 2 credits, never expires) to use the cross-network secure relay, stackable with plan credits
Tip: for extra-large files (video footage, design files), we recommend transferring while logged in — plans remove the direct-transfer size limit entirely for a better experience.
What's the difference between LAN transfer and cross-network transfer?
WringCloud offers two transfer modes for different scenarios:
LAN transfer: direct transfer within a local network — data never touches the public internet, gigabit full speed; sender and receiver must be online at the same time
Cross-network transfer: via a secure cloud relay with full-link HTTPS encryption, supports offline transfer — the sender can go offline after uploading and the receiver downloads anytime
Which to choose: within the same LAN, LAN transfer is faster; across different networks, cross-network transfer is more flexible.
Why does the secure relay's upload/download speed feel slow?
The secure relay's actual transfer speed is decided by the local network bandwidth of sender and receiver, and is limited by the slower side. First, mind the bandwidth unit conversion:
The "100M/1000M" quoted by ISPs usually means bit/s (bits per second); divide by 8 to get transfer speed (bytes per second)
100M broadband: theoretical cap around 12.5 MB/s
1000M (gigabit) broadband: theoretical cap around 125 MB/s
In practice you rarely hit the theoretical cap — several factors get in the way:
WiFi signal quality (2.4G/5G band, distance from the router, walls)
Physical NIC and link quality, ISP line conditions
Upstream bandwidth (many broadband lines upload far slower than they download)
Proxies / VPN tunnels (e.g. Sangfor aTrust), which may throttle traffic
Transient network congestion, etc.
If uploads/downloads are clearly slow, first disconnect the proxy or VPN tunnel on your computer, or switch to wired / a better signal, and try again.
How fast can LAN direct transfer (P2P) go?
LAN direct transfer is peer-to-peer within the same local network, never touching the public internet. The theoretical cap is set by the weaker side of the two parties' network equipment — again, convert units first:
The "100M/1000M" quoted by ISPs/equipment usually means bit/s; divide by 8 for bytes per second
100M LAN: about 12.5 MB/s
1000M (gigabit) LAN: about 125 MB/s
2.5G / 10G LANs: theoretically even faster
Real-world speed rarely reaches the theoretical cap:
Wired vs wireless: WiFi (especially 2.4G or weak signal) is much slower than wired
Cable grade: 100M cables (e.g. CAT5) can't reach gigabit — use CAT5e/CAT6
Disk read/write speed: HDDs are often the bottleneck; SSDs get closest to full speed
NIC / switch / router ports, CPU load, etc.
Recommendation: wired connection + SSD drive + gigabit cable on both ends gets you closest to full speed; direct transfer requires both parties to be online at the same time with pages open.
What does receiver count mean?
Receiver count is how many people can receive the same file (one after another, not simultaneously):
1: only 1 person can receive the file
3: 3 people can receive it in turn
5: 5 people can receive it in turn
10: 10 people can receive it in turn
500 (registered users only): great for large event file distribution
Unlimited (plans only): for enterprise-scale batch distribution
Typical choices: sending to one colleague — 1; sending to a team — 5 or 10; broadcast announcements — more.
Note: receivers must visit the link one after another; simultaneous receiving by multiple people isn't supported.
Where to set it: when starting a transfer from the homepage, click the "Count" option (500 is registered-users-only; unlimited is plans-only).
A file is too large for WeChat — how do I get it to someone?
Simplest with WringCloud: open the website in a browser, drop the file in to generate a link, and send the link over WeChat.
No software to install, no cloud-drive membership — recipients just tap the link in WeChat to download
On the same LAN (same WiFi / network), gigabit direct transfer — free and full speed

How do I transfer tens of GB between two computers on a company LAN or in a dorm?

What are credit packs? How are they different from plan credits?
Credit packs suit users who occasionally transfer across networks or want to "top up" their plan credits:

Usage order: cross-network transfers deduct plan credits first, then credit packs

If the same file is downloaded repeatedly, are credits deducted each time?
Per download: every download of the same file deducts the sender's download credits by file size; the receiver pays nothing throughout
Deduction order: current-plan credits first, falling back automatically to permanent credit packs and bonus credits
No double-billing: chunked transfer and resumable transfer within a single download aren't charged again
The platform also gives away credits through occasional campaigns — claim them in the Activity Center.

Do receivers need to register a WringCloud account?
No. Receivers just open the link and download — no registration, no installation:
